Bank Account & Proof of Funds

To approve your visa, the consulate requires proof that you have enough savings to survive for a year. You must open a Portuguese bank account and deposit the minimum required amount (approx. €10,500 for a single person).

While some consulates accept statements from foreign banks (like Revolut), a Portuguese IBAN is strongly preferred and often mandatory. This proves your commitment to moving capital to the country.
