Golden Visa: What Remains in 2026?

The Real Estate route for the Golden Visa is officially dead. You can no longer buy a house to get residency. In 2026, the primary remaining routes are Investment Funds (€500k) or Donations to Arts/Culture (€250k).

The fund option remains popular because it requires only 7 days of physical presence in Portugal per year, making it the only true "Plan B" residency for those who do not wish to relocate immediately.
