Internet Contracts & Loyalty

Internet in Portugal is fast (Fiber is standard), but contracts are rigid. Almost all providers (MEO, NOS, Vodafone) require a 24-month loyalty period (Fidelização). Canceling early results in heavy fines.

If you move houses, you can usually transfer the contract to the new address. If the provider cannot supply service at the new address, you might be able to cancel without penalty, but it requires a struggle with customer service.
